What are common side effects of COVID-19 vaccine?

In the middle of the year 2020, it was let known to the world that the Covid 19 vaccine is being produced. At that time, most people had known that this is the only solution to our current pandemic situation. Only production of Covid-19 vaccines will be able to help fight and hopefully eradicate this virus pandemic for good. Since then, many producers have begun their research and started their own Covid-19 vaccine production. Nearing the end of 2020, most of these productions had managed to reach its conclusion. These producers announced that the vaccines will be made available the next year after it is being fully tested. This news is regarded as good news by every citizen on this earth at that time. Finally, hope is being restored and we might be able to stop this pandemic anytime soon.

Fast forward to January 2021, the vaccine producers announced that the Covid-19 vaccine is ready to be sold and used by the people. Since then, many countries have bought it and started their plan to distribute it to their people. Most of the countries implemented a Covid-19 vaccination program, a program that allows their people to choose whether they want to get vaccinated or not. The availability of these vaccines are not enough to cater for everyone because the demand is too high. This is the reason why people need to wait longer and take their turn before they are being vaccinated. People that have finished their shot will feel relieved. However, they might face some side effects following their vaccination shot. Yes, Covid-19 vaccines might give some side effects. What are the common side effects after you get vaccinated by these vaccines?

The most common side effect will be pain at the injection site. Most people will experience this side effect especially those that are easily sensitive. Besides, it is also reported that other common side effects that might be experienced by an individual who got their vaccine shot includes headache, vomiting, diarrhea and also muscle pain. However, bear in mind that this side effect is exclusive, meaning that some other individuals can experience other side effects that are not mentioned above. Usually, you will experience this side effect in 24 hours after your first shot but not more than 7 days. It is usually just a mild to moderate side effect and it will go off after just a while.

Most people are not sure whether experiencing these side effects is good or not. This does not just imply to Covid-19 vaccine, it is also true with other types of vaccines as well. The real reason why you might experience a side effect is because your body is reacting to the vaccine itself. This is actually a good sign because you will know that the vaccine is working.

Besides, some vaccines that needed a second dose such as Pfizer and Moderna vaccines might give a stronger side effect once you completed the second dose. The same reason is applied here. It is because of your body reaction towards the vaccine and a strong side effect will mean that it is working and ready to fight Covid-19 infection. However, if you think that your side effect is too severe and you cannot tolerate it at all, it is recommended to immediately meet your doctor. Your doctor will then do some checks on you before he or she can decide on whether there is any problem with your vaccination or not.
