For this outing you need about twenty dollars per adult. There is only one company that manages this type of excursion: it is the “Maid of the Mist”.The outing lasts about 20 minutes, but you have to add the waiting time before getting on the boat, which varies according to the season.
- Depending on the season, the wait can reach 1h30! During June we had waited a few tens of minutes, but this may vary depending on criteria of date, season, weather, etc.
- Since my visit there is now a solution of skip-the-line tickets to reduce the wait, in order to save time.

We made a “classic” visit to the Niagara Falls site, namely going there by car, and enjoying the panoramas and a boat trip. But there are other possibilities:

- Let me be clear, we do not zip-line just above the falls. It would be far too dangerous, and above all it would further denature this natural site.
This is a zip line activity starting from the end of the ledge. It allows you to approach gradually towards the horseshoe-shaped waterfall, while having on its left the first two falls (“American falls” and “bride’s veil”).
This zip line is nearly 700 meters long, and rises to 70 meters in height. The maximum speed reached is around 65 km / h.
Due to its exterior appearance, this activity is not possible all year round. It is mainly practiced in summer, but also on weekends out of season. This unusual activity costs around 45 € per person and can be booked in advance.
It will be of particular interest to lovers of this type of activity, which for once takes place in a rather atypical and exceptional setting.
Access to the bottom of the falls and behind

One activity that stands out is the so-called “Journey behind the falls”, or in frenches the “voyage behind the falls”. The term “behind” comes from the fact that beyond access to the foot of the falls, in fact one also accesses behind the great fall of the horseshoe.
